High-field MRI (1.5T)
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI or MR) combines a powerful magnet with an advanced computer system and radio waves to produce accurate, detailed pictures of organs and tissues to diagnose a variety
of medical
conditions
and guide
patient care.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the probe through the gel into the body.
The transducer
collects the sounds
that bounce back
and a computer
then uses those
sound waves to
create an image.
General X-ray
X-rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. X-ray imaging creates pictures of the inside of your body. The images show the parts of your body in different shades
of black and white.
The most familiar
use of x-rays is
checking for broken
bones, but x-rays
are also used in
other ways.
